Erik has been serving God at the University of Arkansas since August of 2012. He interned for a year and a half with Cru and joined staff long term in January of 2014.
Laura also joined staff with Cru in January of 2014. In September of 2016, she moved to Fayetteville to do ministry at the University of Arkansas. Before she started serving at the U of A, Laura served at the University of Southern California.
Erik and Laura got married on December 10, 2016. They had their son, Oliver, on March 22, 2018. They had their first daughter, Riley, on August 31, 2020. And they had their second daughter, Blakely, on October 16, 2023!
Background
Erik first moved to Fayetteville in the fall of 2007 to major in Civil Engineering at the U of A. During his sophomore year, he started to get involved with Cru. Over the next few years, his involvement steadily grew until he was an invested leader. In January of his senior year (2012), he decided that before pursuing a career in engineering, he would take a year and intern with Cru to see what campus ministry was like. Halfway through his internship, Erik decided that the Lord was leading him away from a career in engineering and towards a career in ministry.
Laura went to Sacramento State. She studied Math and English in hopes of being a high school teacher. She wanted to teach high schoolers in order to have a ministry. She got involved with Cru at Sac State during her junior year (Fall of 2011) and quickly realized that the Lord was leading her into full-time ministry. After she graduated in December of 2013, she joined staff with Cru and started doing college ministry at the University of Southern California (USC).
Erik and Laura met when they joined staff with Cru and married 3 years later. They are loving being parents to Oliver, Riley, and Blakely. The best part of their day is playing with their kids.
