During my time in college, God used Cru at Columbia College Chicago to grow my heart for evangelism and discipleship. Since 2013, I’ve had the privilege of serving students across the city at Columbia, Roosevelt, Illinois Tech, and the University of Chicago. 

After several years of campus ministry, I began to sense it might be time for a change. Through much prayer, reflection, and encouragement from my church community, I realized God was leading me to work specifically with Athletes in Action (Cru’s athletic ministry) on college campuses.

As I look back on my time on staff with Cru, I’ve actually been doing ministry with athletes during my very first week on campus as an intern in the fall of 2013! (Shoutout to RU; go Lakers!) 

Our vision for AIA is to see followers of Christ on every team, in every sport, on every campus. 

College athletes have a unique platform as they are often looked up to, admired, and leaders on their campuses. How incredible would it be for athletes in Chicago to use that platform to make the gospel known? 

Reaching the athletic department leads to reaching the campus, the city, and the world.
