Read at our past prayer letters

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good for those who are called according to his purpose. — Romans 8:28

Thirty years ago we committed ourselves to full time ministry.

Your prayers and giving are a vital part in proclaiming the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ around the world. Thank you! It has been a joy to partner with you!

After 16 years of church panting in Chile, we joined Family Life in 2014, excited to help our partners in Latin America who longed for their churches to become vibrant healing centers for healthy, hurting, and sometimes broken families.

Our vision and prayer for every congregation and denomination we’ve worked with is: May your church earn the reputation of being a marriage and family training center for the city, so that whenever someone wants to build their family on a strong foundation, or rebuild a broken family, they will know, “I need to go to that church because they build strong families!”

When we joined FamilyLife Global in 2014, there were seven active FamilyLife ministries in Latin America, two in the Caribbean, and we were doing all the training. Today there are active FamilyLife ministries in 17 countries in Latin America, 14 in the Caribbean, and they are doing the training.

For ten years our highly motivated and talented partners in Latin America exloded the ministry faster and more effectively than we could have imagined. Over the last four years, we have progressively handed over the ministry in Latin America to the local leaders. That transition was completed in August 2024. We rejoice in taking a supporting and coaching role as they have taken ownership for the future.

What are Roger and Laura doing now? Since our skills, gifting and calling for Latin America haven’t changed, we joined FamilyLife’s US Latinos Team to help develop the Spanish speaking ministry here at home. As a member of the US Latinos National Leadership, our focus is to:

  • Develop a network of Hispanic churches that are engaged in FamilyLife ministry, striving to become marriage and family equipping centers for their communities.
  • Provide FamilyLife ministry training and support to churches in the area (NC, SC, GA, AL).
  • Offer Bible-based resources and training within the SC Foster Care system. As certified speakers with Lifeline’s Families Count program, we are training and mentoring parents who are working toward family reunification. This is a SC DSS approved course.
  • Laura is also writing for the FamilyLife Content Team.
With gratitude,
Roger and Laura Dye
