Help Those Affected by Hurricane Florence

#2792811 - Disaster Relief

“This one really scares me" - National Hurricane Center Director Ken Graham

As Hurricane Florence batters the East Coast, Cru teams are standing by to bring immediate help when the wind and rain stops. And when the water recedes, to help families start rebuilding their lives. Once the storm passes, we will be there.

Aid will be given in 2 phases:

Phase 1:

Global Aid Network (GAiN), the humanitarian ministry of Cru, sends disaster relief aid to the affected areas. GAiN has trucks full of disaster relief supplies ready to go right now. Once on the scene, aid workers and volunteers will distribute food, baby formula, diapers and basic hygiene necessities to the affected. This aid is distributed all while sharing the love of Jesus.

Phase 2:

College students from around the country are already mobilizing to help clean up and rebuild. They will be trained to offer help and share the love of Christ to those whose lives may never be the same. For families in their darkest hours, Cru college students will shine the light of Jesus, while providing physical help by rebuilding homes and lives.

Because the gospel is central to everything Cru does, none of this aid is only given in the name of “Cru” (so as to make us look great), but always in the name of Jesus. The gospel is proclaimed, the love of Jesus displayed, and prayers are raised for those who are being helped.

In the same way that students helped rebuild in Houston after Hurricane Harvey, teams around the country are ready to answer the call again. By giving now, you can help mobilize these students so they can be the hands and feet of Jesus.

 How you can help:
First, pray:
  1. Pray that damage is minimal and there is no loss of life.
  2. Pray that the teams of students have effective ministry. That the disaster relief aid is received in the spirit in which it was given.
  3. Pray that overall, God is glorified through this disaster. While disasters like this make no sense, we can still trust that God is faithful.
  4. Please pray that through the tragedy, many put their faith in Him.

Next, give:

After praying, would you consider giving to support these relief efforts? Any amount you feel the Lord leading you to give would mean everything to those who are affected.

Together we can help those who have lost everything pick up the pieces. While we can’t give them their old lives back, we can offer them eternal life in Jesus.
