Because you care about the people affected by Hurricane Michael, we want to give you an update on Global Aid Network® (GAiN®) plans for serving people whose lives have been affected by Hurricane Michael. GAiN sent a team to assess damage and to connect with local Cru staff members and partners to determine the most urgent needs as they serve victims in the Florida Panhandle.
As a result of the assessment, GAiN sent a team of skilled staff members and volunteers to Panama City. The purpose of this team is two-fold; first to continue to bring relief to those affected by the storm, and second to lay the groundwork for future volunteer opportunities.
The damage from Hurricane Michael was significantly worse than what we witnessed from Florence — relief and recovery across the panhandle will be slower as a result. GAiN is helping lead Cru's response, so in the coming months we can mobilize a volunteer force of students and others to relieve suffering, restore dignity, and reveal hope to hurricane victims across Florida's Panhandle.
