They are searching for answers to spiritual questions and want to know more about Christ and the hope He brings.
That was Aamaal’s* life story—until it was changed forever—thanks to donors like you.
When Aamaal emailed Cru staff for the first time, her desperation was heartbreaking:
“I am from [a closed nation], being enslaved my whole life in the name of religion. My aunt and uncle are ... [from] extremist families and always put pressure on me ...
I need some personal attention, please––and to be taken seriously ... I am looking forward to getting inner satisfaction. It is what my soul longs for.”
Cru missionaries responded and continued to answer any questions she had. The missionaries explained to her how Jesus was the only way to heaven, and true freedom could only be found in Him.
After several weeks of conversation online, Aamaal traveled to a more open country. There, she met with the missionaries face-to-face, and even attended church with them!
One of the staff members sent this report:
“During the [church] service she was actually singing the songs very softly and I think even spoke some of the responses. When we ... greeted each other, she was almost in tears. She later said the service was amazing. Also, because the service included a baptism, the gospel was given very clearly ...
Her life would be in danger for changing her religion ... [yet] she wants to continue having contact. [We] will walk with her in the coming months and provide whatever support is needed.”
Stories like Aamaal’s are all too common. Often, when seekers from these countries reach out to Cru, it’s because they have no other option. And it’s only because of donations from partners like you that this ministry can take place. Cru’s ministry to Aamaal and the millions like her to Christ is entirely donor funded.
God is moving in miraculous ways in the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia. In the past, it was a celebration when just one person declared Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Now, hundreds—even thousands—are claiming Jesus as their own.
