Equip Teams to Reach the Unreached with “JESUS”

#2571179

Often, ministry partners can’t afford to purchase the equipment or fully financially support their teams. They do what they can and are grateful for the support you provide. The average daily cost to send and support one of these film teams is $42, or $1,250 per month. This covers their travel, room and board, the training of new teams and church planters, discipleship literature, and equipment to show “JESUS” and other Jesus Film® content (such as discipleship films).

Many of these teams are working in resistant areas. They are true pioneers—including film teams working in 12 nations that mission leaders have identified as the most unreached on earth. The teams you send not only go to show people “JESUS” in the language of their hearts but return again and again to ground new believers in their faith. They teach and disciple them, until a new thriving, self-sustaining church is established.

According to the Joshua Project, more than 3 billion people are considered unreached, most residing in those 12 nations. They have never heard nor understood the gospel. Many don’t even know the name Jesus. With gratitude for all you have done, may I again invite your partnership in this global task of world evangelism? Would you enable unreached people to experience “JESUS”?

Perhaps you could help sponsor four days of a church-planting film team’s ministry by sending a gift of $168. During that day, they could be discipling new believers and at night showing “JESUS” in yet another village or home. Your gift today of $294 will support a full week of a team’s ministry. You can also sponsor half a month of a team’s work with a gift of $625. You can cover an entire month by sending $1,250. With a gift of $3,750 you can help ensure a team can be on the front lines reaching people and following them up for three months. Or you may feel led to sponsor the work of a film team for a complete year with a gift of $15,000. Your team will then be at work throughout the year, leading thousands to the Savior. (By the way, on average, every day, 612 new churches are planted through the work of these teams*.)

According to your ability, could you also consider equipping a film team with a portable showing set? The 50-viewer sets are versatile, in much demand and very productive. You can furnish a waiting team with one of these sets for a gift of $1,097. As always, give as you are able, joyfully, led by His Spirit and for His glory. Thank you for your faithful prayers and partnership.

Our God is at work in the most amazing ways.

He is drawing unreached people to Himself through His Word. As they hear Jesus speak to their hearts, they are transformed. It’s why I hope you will be encouraged by these inspiring reports of the film “JESUS.”**

► BigLife is one of 1,800 ministries using “JESUS” to plant churches where there are none. Your partnership helps supply their workers with translations of the film and showing equipment. This first report came from one of their teams:

“I was praying in tears for many days, asking God to open an opportunity that would allow me to share the gospel in any way [with unreached people in a difficult area]. One day, I received a call from a believer brother. He works close to the border [of a closed nation] and has been sharing within this area with great courage. He invited me to come alongside him and to bring my ‘JESUS’ movie projector and equipment. I was surprised that he wanted me to bring my projector.

“I immediately realized that God had answered my prayers! We made the difficult journey to a very remote village, walking the last miles on mountain trails.

“The mountainous area began to block out the sun, and I eagerly waited for it to become darker. A crowd started to gather. Intrigued, [the villagers] thought that I had brought some sophisticated machine and questioned what it was. Soon, everyone became quiet. We could see them captivated by the film; some didn’t even want to blink in fear of missing out on any segment of the film. When Jesus was seen, people's expressions changed. They were awestruck by Jesus as if they were drawn to Him and waiting for Him to appear again on the screen.

“I could feel as if their hearts were beating faster. Whenever there was a miracle, their eyes were left shocked and in awe. When the scene of Jesus’ crucifixion was seen, many women began to cry. One man was so moved that he began to sweat all over his body, soaking his clothes. I cannot explain his condition in words.

“After the film, some people came up to me and asked, ‘Our area is a bit far. Can you show us this film in our area so that everyone in our family can have this opportunity to see this film?’ They even offered to pay for the showing. I smiled and said of course, but there is no need for payment.

“After a few showings, we met with the man whose clothes had been soaked in sweat. He claimed he had not slept for two days. He said Jesus’ life, teaching and sacrifice kept him awake all night. He had an urge to keep this teaching and sacrifice within his heart. He said that ‘Jesus is my LORD.’

“I went into details about coming to faith in Christ and baptism. Eagerly, this new brother urged me, ‘Let’s go now. Under that mountain, there is a valley; I want to go at this very moment.’ We immediately headed out and baptized him in the valley. We then prayed for him and pleaded that he share with his family and relatives. This happened six months earlier, and he has since led his wife, two adult kids and brother to accept Christ.”

► This next report comes from India about a family and a man I will refer to as Viraj. A follower of the dominant religion of his country, he had heard about Jesus but not much else. Then he learned that a film about this Jesus was going to be shown in the yard of a friend. Curious, he decided to go. A church-planting team had come. They set up their portable equipment and screen in the yard—equipment you have provided.

Again, the Word of God, the Holy Spirit moved in hearts. The stories they saw and heard in their heart language were deeply moving. After the showing, Viraj approached the team, now filled with emotion. He expressed how grateful he was for the clarity the film provided. He said watching the “JESUS” film helped him better understand Jesus and why He came into the world as a human.

A few days later, Viraj invited the church planter to bring the equipment to his own home and hold a “JESUS” film showing. Viraj’s entire family was there. And as often happens, everyone was captured by the story, the person of Jesus, His miracles and the words He spoke with power.

Viraj and his wife both came to Christ. As of the last report from the team, they are growing in their faith, leading their children in God’s truth, sharing their new faith with loved ones and connecting regularly with the church-planting team. Praise God!

► This last report is from an especially resistant area, a desert region of Asia. A film team traveled a great distance to a remote town of about 20 households. This ministry partner’s teams had previously visited and preached the gospel. Several families were baptized. Still others had not believed but were fascinated by the changes they saw in their Christian neighbors and how they would worship. When the non-believing, resistant families showed interest in learning more, the team decided it was time to show them “JESUS.”

As soon as it was sufficiently dark, the team started “JESUS.” They reported: “People were intrigued by the film. The desert area filled with silence and darkness. All that could be heard was the film playing. Everyone was focused on the film. It seemed as if there was nothing else other than the ‘JESUS’ film. As soon as the film was finished, people sat still, looking at the blank screen.

“We then guided people to [help them] understand the message. It was quite late, but the people were still interested in talking. They soon accepted Christ. We spent the night and the next morning with them. The people had all gathered. We then prayed for them, and they received baptism. God is the only One to open hearts and minds to accept Christ as their Savior, to gain salvation and eternal life. This equipment has played a major role, and we thank God for this blessing. The ‘JESUS’ movie projector continues to open doors for us to share the Word.”

I hope your heart has been uplifted after reading these stories! They are testimonies of His power and Word, of wonderful partners, and courageous church-planting film teams who use the equipment you send.
