Gary and Alice Fredricks

Gary and Alice have each been on the staff of Cru for 50+ years. They served in the U.S. Campus Ministry ('67-'72) before going to Kenya in 1972. In 1978 they returned to the US for theological training. Upon graduation in 1982, they returned to Kenya to teach at the Nairobi International School of Theology (NIST). At NIST, Gary served as Principal ('83-'85), Vice Principal ('85-'00), and lecturer. Alice taught in the Women's Program at the seminary.

In 2000, they returned to the US in order to care for Alice's mother who lived with them in Orlando, Florida, until her death in June 2006. In Orlando, Gary and Alice helped give leadership to a one year staff development and care program at the Cru world headquarters. Staff came from around the world to participate in this unique program which involved special developoment sessions, small groups, and personal coaching. They also served in a staff care role for our American staff serving in sub-Sahara Africa, making yearly trips to visit them where they lived. Gary occasionally has opportunities to provide biblical teaching in the US and internationally.

In 2016, they moved to Fort Worth, Texas to live near their family. They are now involved with Cru's ministry to international students, called Bridges, in the Fort Worth area as well as help do "staff care" for the 45+ Bridges staff in this 4 state region.

Gary and Alice have two sons. Scott and Shelley have 4 boys and live in Fort Worth, Texas. Mark lives in the Kelseyville area of northern California.
