Bill and Kathy Horlacher

Bill and Kathy have served as Cru staff members for 41 and 43 years, respectively. The Horlachers were married in 1977 and they have three grown sons: Matt is 33 and married to the former Jenna Frueh; Ben is 31 and the veteran of three Army deployments to the Middle East; Steve is 27. 

In 1983, the Horlachers met one Mainland Chinese student at the University of Maryland, and that launched their concern for international students. From 1991 to 2010, Bill was Executive Director of Bridges International, Cru's ministry to international students. He now serves as Executive Director Emeritus for Bridges with an emphasis on communications and fund development. The Horlachers live in State College PA, Bill's hometown and the location of his college alma mater, Penn State University. Both Bill and Kathy are active in ministry among the 9,000 international students and scholars who have come to Penn State from 130 nations.
