Howie and Nance Kauffman

#0026842

Upon graduating from the University of Florida in 1973, Howie joined Cru staff. Nance came on Cru staff after graduating from the University of Singapore in 1972. They met at a conference in the Philippines and were married in 1977. They have 3 adult children (Johanna, Jeanne and John) and 8 grandchildren. In their first year of marriage, they lived in the Philippines and worked as staff trainers of new Cru staff. Between 1979-81,  Howie was the Acting National Coordinator of Sri Lanka for Cru. In 1981, they were reassigned to the Philippines where Howie directed the medical ministry for the next 19 years.  After serving 28 years in Singapore, Sri Lanka, India and the Philippines, they returned to the U.S. in 2000 to work with Faculty Commons, the grad student/faculty ministry of Cru.

Why professors? Because professors have a direct impact on students worldwide and an indirect impact on the culture through their teaching and publications.

Howie and Nance serve at the University of Florida and Santa Fe College. They seek to build relationships and share the gospel with non-Christian professors, disciple/mentor Christian professors, and resource/equip them to send them to reach the world. Additionally, they serve as Field Leaders to several Faculty Commons staff.  Besides shepherding them, they aim to help these staff men and women flourish and succeed in their personal ministry to faculty and grad students.

Howie and Nance love what they do!
