Who are the most influential people in a given society?
The intellectual gatekeepers are the most influential people in society. Even government and media influencers must first pass through professors' classrooms.
Since returning from international mission in Kenya, East Africa in 1993, Dr. & Mrs. Ness have been serving as God's ambassadors to university faculty on multiple campuses in Texas (2 Cor. 5:18-20) and Kenya. They seek to encourage faculty to be lighthouses of Christ (Matt. 5:14-16), shining the beacon of love to all their students and colleagues and the beacon of truth in all their academic communications (Eph. 4:14,15).
Dr. David C. Ness grew up in Kenya as the son of foreign missionaries. He received his BA and MA in Biblical education from Columbia Bible College (now Columbia International University). Later he earned his PhD in Anthropology from Temple University. He was lecturer at the former Nairobi International School of Theology and adjunct professor at LeTourneau University. Dave joined Campus Crusade for Christ (now Cru) in 1980 and has since served with campus, executive, international and faculty ministries.
Mrs. Karen S. Ness grew up in Texas, France and Switzerland as daughter of a petroleum engineer. She earned her BA in English Literature from the University of New Mexico. Karen became a Campus Crusade for Christ (now Cru) staff member in 1971 and has since served in various leadership positions with campus, Here's Life, executive, international and faculty ministries in addition to being a great mother to two sons.
As you invest, realize you can never out-give God. What is more is that you are making the best investment possible (Matthew 6:19-21) because in reality you are really giving to Jesus Himself (Matthew 25:40). Thank you for sharing this strategic vision.
