The words of our Lord to "go and make disciples in all nations" have made an impact like nothing else in our lives. We live to help fulfill this command. Starting on the campus of Northwestern University, in Evanston, IL, we were trained in personal evangelism and discipleship strategies. We recall with deep joy the thrill of leading students to new faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord! The vision of what we might do in the Chicago area led to opening campus ministries at the U of I, Chicago, IIT, Elmhurst, and several community colleges in the area. The opportunity to mobilize students from the Moody Bible Institue, Wheaton College, Trinity College, and Trinity Divinity School greatly increased the number of laborers for the harvest.

From Chicago we were given a new assignment to help lead the national ministry of CCC. We moved to the Inland Empire of CA and officed at the national hdqtrs at Arrowhead Springs. During those years we also were faculty at the new International School of Theology (David has his Th.M from Dallas Seminary) and as well launched a new ministry to business people, called Marketplace Ministries Inc (a CA corporation). We led that for nine years in southern CA before re-joining the Campus Ministry to launch an initiative to juniors and seniors, called Graduating to the Marketplace.

That entailed a move to Colorado, to join a new team in Boulder. After five years we moved into International Ministry, serving primarily in the Middle East. Presently we are serving with FamilyLife in its Global department, working in francophone Africa as well as in Latin America. We mention in passing that we had the opportunity to be co-founders of FamilyLife, in 1976, along with Don and Sally Meredith, Ney Bailey, and Dennis and Barbara Rainey.

We have seen the faithfulness of the Lord to provide the funding to supply our living expenses and certain travel expenses over the period of being with CCC -- since 1966.  Our children have been raised in this context of faith in God for vocational ministry, delighting us with their commitment to follow our Lord as they build their families./

Presently, we sense we are in a transition zone. After 50 years of vocational ministry we wonder if we should "retire." Not a biblical term, yet we sense the leading of the Lord to be less directed by the organization and more by serving Jesus and His Great Commission in creative ways. There is a Cru category: Staff Emeritus, that may exactly what we are looking for. We shall finalize these matters in the coming weeks. We are eager to say "thank you" for your partnership!
