Doug and Carol Scarborough

We met while serving at Cru's International Headquarters and were married in 1981. We had been active as students in Campus Crusade, Doug at Pennsylvania State University and Carol at Indiana University, where we both earned business degrees. We later moved to Chicago so Doug could study at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Our family was tested from 1987 through 1991 with the premature births of our two sons who both started their lives in intensive care. Later, Carol was injured during surgery, requiring a long recovery. For nearly two years, Doug acted as breadwinner, housekeeper and primary caregiver for our toddlers. Not only did the foundation we acquired as an engaged couple at FamilyLife's Weekend To Remember® see us through this challenging season in our lives; it actually strengthened our relationship as we walked through those trials. This led us to return to full-time ministry with FamilyLife in 1992.

We both serve in Human Resources.  Doug provides strategic direction and support to our entire Human Resources department as the Human Resources Chief of Staff.  Carol is a Human Resources Strategic Business Partner, handling the HR needs and future requirements for several departments within FamilyLife.
