I, Ylli, was born and raised in Communist Albania. After hearing about Christ in 1992, I realized that what I had considered to be a fairy tale was actually valid, true and a life-changing truth. I gave my life to the Lord and soon after became involved in Cru on my campus at the University of Tirana, Albania where I studied sculpture. Upon graduation, I joined the 3 other Albanians and handful of Americans on staff with Cru in Tirana (now there are over 115 Albanians).
Having been raised in a Christian home, I, Nikki, gave my life to Christ at a young age. I continued to grow in my relationship with and understanding of Christ through involvement in the church and other activities. I became involved with Cru while studying at Moorhead State University in Minnesota where my desire to lead others to Christ grew. I joined staff with Cru upon graduation and served two years in Illinois before going to Albania.
After 4 years of friendship, we married and have 2 children: Aaron & Abby. We have ministered in both Albania and Kosovo. After two years at Denver Seminary where we received further training, we returned to Albania in September 2003 with the ministry of the gospel.
From 2006-2014 Ylli was the first Albanian to serve as the National Director for the Cru ministry in Albania & Kosovo. Following the transition out of that role, we have begun a ministry to leaders in Albania while also serving greatly at our local church, Cornerstone Church of Albania. Although our ministry focus has changed, we will always be committed to serving the greatest cause, the Great Commission, because Christ does not change and His love, incomprehensible, compels us.
