Radford University is a vibrant campus made up of college students from all over Virginia. As students enter college, their hope is often to get through college as fast as possible to start their lives. What they don't realize is that going to college is often the first time they have ever had the opportunity to make their own choices. As students walk onto campus they realize they want more than just the degree, they want friendships and community, a group of people to belong to and know that they matter. Cru provides a space for those students to come and meet people that live in the same resident halls, take classes with them or even recognize a professor or two. Throughout the week a college student has a lot that they could get involved in beyond classes. Cru has small groups that gather to learn about the Jesus and His Word, meet for a large group meeting on campus, or for being silly and making memories together.
My prayer is that as a college student comes to Cru, they would want to get involved and ask the questions about God and who He is. That the gospel would capture their heart in a way that their whole trajectory would change! That while in college they would join a small group, come to main meeting and get plugged into community so that when we send them out to go on mission trips or into the workforce they would know Jesus and want to love and share with their co-workers, families and communities who He is and why it matters.
