Only when a ministry becomes self-sustaining locally, can it begin to experience the freedom to do all the vital things to reach their country with the Gospel.  The goal is to help every country become self-sustaining and less dependent on outside resources.

Cru has built strong leaders who multiply spiritually, but in many parts of the world we have created a culture of financial dependency by not doing a good job of teaching our leaders how to generate resources from within the movements they build. This has deprived them of depending on God to help fulfill the Great Commission in their own areas. Our plan, therefore, is to change this paradigm. It is impossible to build multiplying movements with external funding, so it is critical that the local leaders begin raising up resources from within their ministry. Only when a ministry becomes self-sustaining locally, can it begin to experience the freedom to do all the vital things which will enhance staff life, provide needed services, support their field ministries and rapidly expand their borders to reach their entire country with the gospel.

Cru’s Building Capacity team will train and coach 30 countries who have identified themselves as ready to begin raising local financial resources in an effort to become self-sustaining.
