OUR TESTIMONIES-

C.B. grew up in a Christian home on a farm in Maryland. He became a Christian at a relatively young age but only began walking closely with the Lord while in college. Susan became a Christian her senior year of high school through Dr. Joon Gon Kim [the 1st international staff of Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU - the name which CCC began using in 2011 in the USA), he started CRU in Korea-1958]. They are graduates of Western Kentucky University (WKU). It was at WKU that they were trained in evangelism & discipleship by CRU and received the call to go into full-time Christian ministry instead of returning to the family agri-business in MD.

BIOGRAPHY-

C.B. and Susan are full time staff members with CRU - City, a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, International (CCC) which began in 1951 with a commitment to helping fulfill the Great Commission, initially by reaching out to college students.  Beginning in the 1960's CCC expanded their outreach to include the executive, professional and leadership communities.  The early expression of this ministry was established by the late Arthur DeMoss & the late Dr. Bill Bright (founder of CCC) to identify and train executives to reach their peers for Christ and disciple them.  The "City" division of CRU is working to place teams in the top 50 cities in the U.S., with a presence in 35 cities at this time.  It offers couples a unique opportunity to have a personal ministry together.

They have served with CRU (www.cru.org/) for 50 years. For most of their first 10 years the Nagels ministered in the Washington, D.C. area- first with the high school ministry of CRU then a business & professional ministry of CRU. In 1984 they moved to Hartford, CT to start a ministry of evangelism & discipleship focused on the business & professional communities.  While in Connecticut, C.B. served on the Executive Committee of the Billy Graham Crusade in Hartford (1985).  After the Graham Crusade he started Urban-Suburban Cooperative Ministries in partnership with others from the Billy Graham executive committee.  For nine years he was a Trustee at The Master's School, a premier Christian day prep-school (Pre-K thru 12th grade).  He was Church Relations Coordinator for Mission Connecticut with Luis Palau, a statewide  evangelistic outreach in 2001.

In the Fall of 2005 they moved from Connecticut, returning to Maryland to start CRU - City (http://vimeo.com/70523346) in the Washington, DC area.  Since moving to Maryland, the Nagels continue to guide, mentor and offer accountability for CRU - City in Connecticut.

MISSION-

Though the Nagels' emphasis is reaching city leaders (LeaderImpact- https://www.leaderimpact.com/), their goal is to serve alongside churches and other Christian organizations to help transform WHOLE cities for Christ and to help the "church" be a blessing to the city (salt & light). Their vision from the beginning was that Hartford would become a model of spiritual transformation and serve others throughout New England, the Northeast and around the world in reaching their communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. When they moved to Maryland in 2005, they were being sent by the ministry in Hartford. A partnership between the Nagels &  CRU - City in Connecticut is established whereby the Nagels continue to coach the leadership team in Connecticut & this leadership team is committed to assisting them in establishing ministries to business & professional men and women from Virginia through New England and beyond.

In addition to providing local leadership for CRU - City in the MD/Washington, D.C. area, the Nagels have a burden for CRU staff and the body of Christ in the areas of purity, integrity & intimacy with God.  Since 2000 in a personal, unofficial manner they have been addressing the growing problem of pornography in partnership with Pure Desire Ministries Int'l (C.B. was honored by being inducted into PD's Hall of Fame for volunteers).  You are invited to watch the three minute Conquer Series movie trailer for a description of the  problem as well as the hope (https://conquerseries.com/).

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH YOU -

It is such a privilege and joy to partner with you - "Uniquely restoring every community with the good news of Jesus."  That is CRU - City and that is you and the Nagels teaming up to impact our world.
