Donor-Advised Funds

What is a Donor-Advised Fund?

A Donor-Advised Funds is a low-cost and convenient charitable giving fund that serves as a hub for all your charitable giving.  One can establish a fund with Cru Foundation with as little as $5,000 cash, stock or other appreciated assets. You realize any tax benefits for which you qualify in the year of the donation. You can then recommend grants from your fund to the charitable organizations of your choice.

Opening or Switching to a Donor-Advised Fund through Cru Foundation (now with no administrative fees!)

Opening a Great Commission Donor Advised Fund is quite simple:

  • You can establish your fund with Cru Foundation with as little as $5,000 cash, stock or other appreciated assets.
  • You realize tax benefits for the year of the donation.
  • You recommend the amount and timing of distributions from your fund to Cru, your church, or other charitable organizations of your choice. You can give anonymously if you wish.
  • Your fund helps you get money into ministry quickly and efficiently, but there is no minimum that must be distributed throughout the year. And there are no required minimum grants to Cru.

When you open your fund with Cru Foundation (CF), you can have confidence knowing it is being managed by experienced professionals who share your Christian values and your desire to be the best steward possible. That’s why our fees are low and transparent.

Switching your current Donor-Advised Fund to CF from another DAF provider is as simple as initiating a “grant” to CF for the full amount (or partial amount if you would like to keep both) of funds in your current DAF.

You’ll also have easy online access to your fund, so you can check your balance and gift history, and even make distribution requests.
