I (Chris) joined the staff of Cru (CCC) in 1981 and Karen joined me in 1983 when we were married. Since that time we have been at Millersville University, West Chester University, and since July 2000 we have been serving the Lord at Penn State University. Since moving to State College, PA the focus of our ministry has been evangelizing and discipling international students and scholars and their families. There are close to 10,000 international students and scholars on campus and we seek to minister to these dear people through a variety of means. We have a weekly Friday dinner, as well as Bible studies and English classes throughout the week. We seek to serve the spiritual needs of internationals, as well as their physical and social needs - whether it be language assistance, finding furniture, dealing with traffic tickets, and sometimes -- ornery landlords. We do all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, the one Savior for the whole world!
Karen and I have six wonderful children who love Jesus. Anna is married to Sean and they have 4 children and they live in S. Carolina. Cliff & Stephanie live in Manhattan (NYC) and they have 2 boys. Josh is married to Eliza and they also live and work in NYC. Jonathan and Kelsey live in Pittsburgh and they have one little boy. Abby also lives in Pittsburgh and she does communications work for a local pro-life pregnancy center and she lives not too far from Jonathan and Kelsey. And Jesse is married to Margee who is an RN with Penn State Hershey Women's Health. Jesse recently left his engineering job and is currently in a 44-week training program to be a Pennsylvania Wildlife Resource Office (a Game Warden). When he completes his training he'll be a Law Enforcement Officer assigned to one of PA's 67 counties.
In March (2021) I (Chris) was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer that had spread to my spine and bones. I'm currently being treated by the doctors and health professionals of Geisinger Health. God has put us on a new path, but He is showing Himself just as faithful and present as He's always been - He never fails! My schedule has had to adjust a bit but I'm still working full-time as I schedule doctor visits, infusions, etc. Your prayers are much appreciated!
