Our mission is to help "make disciples of all nations" (Matt. 28:191) by connecting people to Jesus and developing spiritual leaders who will expand the mission of Jesus in Austin and around the world.
When the war broke out in Ukraine and families began arriving in Austin, we knew we had to take action. Anya’s Ukrainian heritage, our experience in Ukraine and Russia, cross-cultural marriage, knowledge of Russian (most Ukrainians can speak Ukrainian and Russian) and personal experience of crossing cultures and training others in cross-cultural life and ministry, uniquely equipped and positioned us “for such a time as this” to minister to the hundreds of Ukrainians settling in our area.
Since that time, we have met hundreds of families and helped them with their physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual needs. From helping furnish their homes, enrolling their kids in school, filling out necessary forms, hosting meals in our home, leading Ukrainian support groups to help them in their difficult transition, connecting them with other Ukrainian friends, gathering for holidays, and engaging in spiritual conversations and sharing the gospel, we have gained a new, wonderful, close-knit, extended Ukrainian family.
This unique community has grown to such an extent, we have begun conversations with our church regarding the potential of a Ukrainian church plant!
