Chris came to faith in Christ as a senior in High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. While in college at Oklahoma State University, God used the ministry of Cru to provide Chris the personal discipleship which had a tremendous impact on his life.

Upon graduation, Chris joined the Staff of Cru where he ministered to college students from 1986 through 2018. During that time he served as the Campus Director at Louisiana Tech University, Tashkent, Uzbekistan (former Soviet Union), Texas Tech, and the University of Texas. Chris has a Masters Degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Lisa grew up in Warner Robins, Georgia and enjoyed the privilege of meeting Christ at a very young age. As a student at the University of Georgia, she saw her faith greatly strengthened through her involvement with Cru. Lisa came on Staff with Cru in 1993, working for 3 years at Auburn University before moving to Lubbock to lead the women's ministry at Texas Tech for 17 years, and then at UT in Austin.

In the spring of 2019, Chris and Lisa began serving with FamilyLife, hoping to use the family piece to reach those who are far from God and the church with the gospel, as well as strengthening families in general. There are many people who are not showing up for church on Sunday that still hope to have a strong marriage and are scared to death for their kids-- we believe this creates a great opportunity to help people and expose them to the gospel of Christ.

Chris and Lisa have been married for 25 years. In May of 2004 they adopted Luke and Anna Grace from Russia. Luke is now 20 and Anna Grace is 18 years old. God blessed them with the birth of Claire in May of 2007.
