John Musgrove

I have been on the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ since 1986 and in Ukraine since 1995. Having worked in the Finance Office at the World Headquarters of Campus Crusade, I thought that I would serve the Lord for a couple of years in Ukraine. But God had other plans for me. My heart is here with the people. I throughly enjoy serving with the Ukrainian staff and feel blessed to be here. I thought that I would be here for a year or two but God has had me here for 15 years.

In Ukraine we desire to build movements of evangelism and discipleship in the Russian speaking world. Among students we do that in two ways: 1) We have trained teams of missionaries in 5 cities and 2) my team (the LINC/Catalytic team) works with student leaders and other volunteers in cities where we do not have a staff presence.

It is very exciting and encouraging to be a part of what God is doing in building movements of evangelism and discipleship. My team works with student leaders and volunteers in over 10 cities. Just yesterday I traveled to Poltava, a student city in the center/east of Ukraine. While there, I spent time listening to our leader and praying with him. Then after meeting with the other students who make up the team we went to a local part to share the Good News. That evening 5 young people had the opportunity to hear the Gospel in a clear and relevant manner. It was an exciting evening as we took the initiative to share our faith.

God's work around Ukraine excites me. As I was in Poltava, one of my teammates was in Sumy and another two were in Cherkassi building into the lives of student leaders so that more can come to know Christ.

Besides that our trained missionary staff in L'vov, Odessa, Donetsk, Kharkov and Kiev are building into the lives of students also. So it is just incredible to think about how everyday in Ukraine staff and students are taking steps to build spiritual movements.
