Eric joined staff with the campus ministry of Cru in 1988 after being involved with the ministry at Ohio State University.  In the fall of 1993, He went on a yearlong STINT (Short Term INTernational) mission trip to Albania where he met Kristen Carlson, who also was on the STINT.  Kristen was a swimmer at Miami of Ohio and started a personal relationship with Christ during her senior year.  They fell in love. Kristen joined Cru staff and they were married in 1995.  They now have 4 children and reside in Muncie, Indiana where they minister as directors of Athletes in Action to the athletic community at Ball State University.  Eric has been chaplain for the football, basketball and baseball teams at different times over the years and has led small groups with several athletic teams. They also have a weekly meeting during the school year that is attended by student athletes representing many of the sports teams on campus. Their vision is to reach and build into student athletes for Christ who will in turn help reach the campus and world for Christ.
