Todd and Angela Johnson

#0410273

We have been on staff with Cru for 32 years serving in Missouri, California, and in Nebraska for the past 23. The mission of CRU City is: "Kingdom citizens advancing the mission of Jesus for the well-being of the city."

Through our time spent in campus ministry, we gained a vision for raising up healthcare workers trained to do spiritual care with their patients.  Health professionals are in highly strategic and perhaps unparalleled positions to influence people for the gospel. We coach student leaders at UNMC and Creighton Med Center. We train, equip, and mobilize those in the health profession to best respond to the many ministry opportunities God brings to them in the clinical setting.  We do this through Dr. Dinners, Ethics Lunches, Bible studies, Global Missions Health Conferences, and mentoring. We would like to see every healthcare student sent into their profession trained to provide spiritual care for their patients and their co-workers around them.

Todd has given leadership to 7 Global Health Outreach trips over spring breaks in Ecuador,  El Salvador, Haiti, and Peru on the Amazon river. GHO sets up week long free health clinics with teams of healthcare professionals. We've also hosted summer mission opportunities locally.

Todd serves as the Regional Director for the Upper Midwest for Church Movements. He is working on developing strategic partnerships to bring redemption to the biggest needs of the city. He meets monthly with local pastors for evangelism and discipleship training. He also leads a weekly bible study through Good News Jail and Prison Ministry with inmates at the Douglas County Jail, and helps with prayer times through First Responders Prayer when homicides occur in our city to help let the friends and families know they are not alone.

Angela also continues to reach out in the arts community. Recently, along with her mentor, she led a workshop on brokenness through the metaphor of Kintsugi. She gives leadership to various groups of women and meets with medical students, mothers, and artists for discipleship.

Together we host workshops called "Becomong a CoJourner",  teaching groups and churches how to come alongside people in their spiritual journeys and share the hope of Christ with them. Something new for this year was serving at the local Weekend to Remember marriage conference. Our role was to meet with new believers and help them to grow in their newfound faith in Jesus.
