I joined staff with Athletes in Action and Campus Crusade for Christ in 1992. Before entering full-time ministry, I was the head volleyball coach at East Carolina University.

Athletics has always been a big part of my life. After a college career in volleyball, basketball and softball, I went on to begin my coaching career at James Madison University as the assistant volleyball coach. The University of West Georgia was next as I became the head coach of volleyball and softball for 7 years. Moving to a Division 1 coaching position had always been a goal of mine and it materialized with being selected as the head coach of the East Carolina University Lady Pirates program.

The platform of coaching sports that the Lord had given me was always something I enjoyed in order to use it to share my faith and love for Him with other people. Athletes and coaches have a great influence in our society which can be used or misused. It was during my second season at ECU that the Lord began to deal with me about resigning my coaching position to serve in full-time ministry but where I did not know. What I did know was - it was time to go!

Not long after, the Lord lead me to work with Athletes in Action, the sports ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ. I spent my first five years on staff as the director of the Volleyball ministry, responsible for the recruiting and organization of the international teams. I now serve as associate team leader on the Global Leadership Council.
