Middle school and high school can be an intimidating seven years. Students need someone to share the truth and hope of the gospel with them, and to help them walk through the pressures and challenges of life. It was in high school that God became more real to me. God blessed me with a youth pastor who answered my questions about Him by pointing me toward the Bible.

While student teaching in high school math, I felt God leading me to serve Him full time. I knew that my heart was with middle/high school students, remembering how important it was for me to have someone pointing me toward the Lord at that age. I joined the staff of Cru’s middle/high school ministry in the summer of 1993.

Middle/high school students are hungry to know God. Our goal in Cru’s ministry to students is to build spiritual movements so that every teenager has the opportunity to know and follow Christ for a lifetime.  We do this by seeking to win students to faith in Christ, build them up in their faith, and send them out to win and build others.

I have three focuses in ministry right now.  The first one is my son, Braden, who is now 15 years old.  Another focus is with the Orlando high-school outreach, where I serve the team in several capacities, one of which is to champion prayer for our staff team.  I also help serve at two local middle schools. The third is being the assistant for the FTMD (Field Team Mission Directors) Team. I began this role in September of 2016.  In this role, I am able to serve the TLs (Team Leaders) with Cru High School all over the United States in various ways.  I also get to serve and work with two of the MIssion Directors, Kirk & Angie Freeman, who were the Team Leaders here in Orlando for several years before they transitioned to this new role.
