Thanks for looking me up! (I'm the one with tan pants above!) My wife Michelle and I joined Staff with Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ back then!) in 1994 and 1993 respectively. We initially served and led the Cru ministry at Illinois State University and then took a risk and moved to Germany to to minister to students at the Albert Ludwig University in Freiburg, Germany, for two years. After moving back to the US and serving at the Cru Regional Office in Indianapolis, we again moved to Germany, to Berlin this time, leading the campus ministry and making Jesus known among the 170,000 University students in one of the most significant cities in Europe. Then, in 2017, we moved back to Indianapolis, where Matt was a HR Director for Cru staff in the MidWest and MidSouth. In summer of 2024 we moved once more, this time to Asheville, NC, where Michelle has moved to a job off Cru Staff and where Matt currently serves on the Midsouth Lifelines Cru team (visit www.lifelinesoutdoors.com to learn more about Cru's Lifelines ministry.) Matt serves as an Lifelines guide on the local Cru team and also as the Lifelines Network Leader.

God continues to change the lives of university students and to use them throughout their lives, wherever they go.  Students are hungry to hear the gospel and remain the 'powerful percent.'  This is our vision, to help students come to know and truly follow Jesus, and to then send them out to "Go and make disciples of all the nations" with their time, talent and treasure. 

The Lifelines strategy is part of the Cru Campus Ministry and combines experiential learning with outdoor adventure to create a unique ministry environment where students can encounter Jesus and others in fresh ways. These tools are what I have been weaving into ministry for the past 32 years, and Lifelines is a fitting new adventure in ministry!
