Steve and Emily have been on staff with Cru for 31+ years.

They began their staff career working with the U.S. Campus Ministry, focusing on reaching college students with the gospel.  After serving for 6 years on campuses such as Illinois State, Western Michigan and multiple smaller schools in SE Ohio, they were asked to work at Cru's International Headquarters in Orlando, Florida. 

While serving in the National Campus Office, Steve was on the Conference Team that hosted many of the outreach and training conferences put on by the Campus Ministry each year.  He also gave leadership to New Staff Orientation; the training conference that all new Cru staff members attend prior to launching their ministries around the world.

Since 2006 Steve and Emily have been working with the Int'l School Project, a Cru ministry. ISP works with public school teachers around the world; training them how to reach their nation for Christ by building movements of spiritual multiplication within the educational community. Though they have regular opportunities to serve across the globe, their primary focus is building movements throughout Africa and the Middle East.

Steve and Emily’s family is a remarkable mix of joy and sorrow. Their firstborn, Joseph, tragically died on August 7, 2014. They have 4 more children: Darcy (21), Timothy (19), Evie (14), and Rachel (10).  They are also foster parents for the state of Ohio and have welcomed numerous children into their home over the last 15 years.
