Jenny Holberg

Hello Friends, Welcome to this page! I'm thankful you are here.

On February 20, 2021, my life completely changed. My dear husband, Mike Holberg, passed away after a two-month courageous battle with Covid-19.

Mike leaves behind not only a great personal legacy of love and service, but he also had a great impact vocationally through his most recent role on staff.  Mike served on the CRU national team as the Digital Strategies Director; his passion was to build systems and tools that helped our staff around the US to reach as many students as possible with the gospel. Together, Mike and I found joy in proclaiming the gospel through every venue possible (whether digitally or in person) -- and to help others learn how to FOLLOW JESUS for a lifetime.

Prior to 2020, Mike and I served in various capacities with CRU for 20+years. We started together loving on the college students at Texas A&M University here in College Station, TX -- and found immense joy as these "Aggie" students grew in their faiths.  We rejoiced when many traveled with us to serve the Lord overseas. We were just as proud of our student-friends who stayed here and labored in their communities faithfully.

In 2006, we decided to move with our newborn twins back to East Asia. We wanted to help build into the indigenous leaders there -- to empower them to lead God's work in their native country. It was not an easy journey, but we left there with JOY overflowing having witnessed God's goodness for the nations.

Most currently, until 2020, Mike and I both served with Bridges International - the ministry of CRU focused on reaching international students studying here in the States. Our goal remained the same: Welcome students genuinely, Serve them tangibly, and Share with them Jesus' message of love and eternal life through Him.

With Mike's passing, my passion to serve with CRU has only increased!

In facing death, I'm more convinced than ever that the gospel is TRUE and I want to be an instrument of God's love here and beyond. I will continue to serve with Bridges International leading Bible studies, organizing cultural events for our curious international friends, and mentoring students in their spiritual growth. Moreover, I will be writing about grief and how it intersects with the gospel and invite all to consider Jesus' claim to have the FINAL victory over death.

I would be honored if you join with me in praying that every international student has an opportunity to respond to the gospel! Please also join with me online as I write at
