Kelly and Kate Mulholland

#0472022

We met in the summer of 1998 in Spain, where the Lord had brought both of us to serve Him at the university campuses of Zaragoza. In September of 2000, after we each completed another full year in Zaragoza, we married and made preparations to embark on a new adventure in campus ministry in Spain.

In 2001, we returned to Spain this time to launch and direct a new campus ministry in Barcelona. Five years later, we transitioned out of Barcelona, handing the local work over to the leadership of the nationals we raised up,  and began to lay the groundwork for our next adventure in campus ministry: Ireland.

After several visits in 2005 and 2006, we landed permanently in Dublin in September of 2007, and launched the campus ministry there. We were soon joined by David and Pam Wilson who give veteran leadership to the ministry (with over 40 years on staff). Over the next 12 years, we saw several young Irish staff join our team, all of them endeavoring to build up a support team centered in Ireland. As the ministry became more stable in Dublin, we began to look for ways to expand to places like Belfast, Cork and Galway.

In the Fall of 2018 we began to sense the nudge to remove ourselves from our roles with the team in Ireland, and to do something completely different. Over the following nine months, we transitioned out and by summer of 2019 left an entirely Irish team to continue the work we started. And in September, we relocated to the Greek Island of Lesvos, to begin a season of working in a refugee camp, tending to the needs of Middle Eastern and African refugees, fleeing from extremely difficult living situations. We are doing this work, "on loan" with a Christian organization called Eurorelief, while remaining staff with Cru. The migration of these people presents an unprecedented opportunity for Christians to demonstrate Christ's love, and to convey to them the message of the hope of the Gospel.

In the summer of 2024, feeling called to go back and help grow the ministry in Ireland, we left our roles with Eurorelief in the hands of capable volunteers, and are embarking on making the transition back to Ireland. We are excited about the potential for Gospel impact of the ministry in Ireland, with new national and campus leadership. We will now be coming in under this energetic leadership to support and build into them as we build capacity to grow the ministry so that together we can reach more people in Ireland. Your support will help us get back to Ireland, God willing in early 2025!

We are so grateful for the generosity of so many people to allow us to do this work. If you are interested in receiving our updates, please click on the button above.
