COME HELP CHANGE THE WORLD:

Do you want to invest in something that is truly life changing and eternal?  Do you want to help shape the emerging generation of leaders in the world in such a way that Christ is honored?  Then come join us in helping to change the world!  Currently we are reaching college students for Christ in Boston, which is arguably one of the most strategic cities in the world.  Boston is an elite academic hub filled with the world's brightest professors and students.  Boston is host to the world's top schools in almost every field: engineering, law, politics, media, music, art, science business....you name it.  We are part of a team of staff in Boston seeking to reach every student on the 44 campuses in the city.  Our current role has us specifically focusing a lot of our time at MIT, as well as helping with our ministry at Tufts, Suffolk, Lesley and UMASS Boston.  Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us by praying for us and the city and by giving a monthly gift of $100 or some other amount? Together we can help change the world for Christ!

ABOUT US:

Throughout our college years, the staff and students of Campus Crusade for Christ led us to deepen our relationships with God, trust Him with our lives, and make Him known to others.

Chris is an Iowan at heart. Chris attended the University of Iowa where his involvement with Cru had a tremendous impact on his spiritual growth. Chris has served with Cru since graduating in 1998 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. His first three years on staff were at his alma matter, then at Iowa State University for five years, and now Boston.

Originally from Texas, Kim made her way to Boston to attend Wellesley College. In her freshman year, Kim became a Christian through the ministry of Cru. Kim graduated from Wellesley with a degree in Russian Area Studies, and has served with Cru since 1996 in Boston and for one year in Central Asia.

We have been married since June of 2006 and have two daughters, Emma and Clara. We are excited about serving God together in Boston. We are still convinced the university is one of the most strategic mission fields on earth. If we reach the campus today, we can reach the world tomorrow!

OUR HEART

The University is the clear fulcrum with which to move the world. More potently than by any other means, change the University and you change the world.
Charles Malik, past president of the United Nations General Assembly

A moral and intellectual storm is ripping apart our world today. Nowhere else is this barrage more evident than on the university campus. Binge drinking, drugs, sex, materialism, denial of absolute truth, a post-modern worldview with ideologies like moral relativism, and new age spirituality, are just a few of the assaults on college students. College students are also at a stage of life when they are making major life decisions such as: Who am I? What do I believe? Who will I marry? Who will I become? How will I cope with life's challenges? Many students come into college from broken or dysfunctional families and don't have any idea of how much God loves them or how He desires to know them personally. There is an urgent need at universities for the message of Christ! These students are the next generation of leaders for the world!

Students are looking for fulfillment and security in their life, but they looking in the wrong places. They will hear and believe a lot of things at the university, but will they ever hear the real truth? One doesn't have to look very far to see the many problems our world has, and we strongly believe that Jesus Christ is the only solution to those problems. Our vision is for every student in Boston to come into a relationship with Jesus Christ so they may know and experience the love, forgiveness, and fulfillment that God offers. We want to do all we can to give every student an opportunity to hear about Christ. And we want to equip students to boldly share their faith and become laborers and leaders for Christ throughout the world once they graduate!

OUR MISSION: Turn Lost Students into Christ-centered Laborers.

OUR VISION: To see the day when there are movements of spiritual multiplication on every campus in Boston...

  • where every student on every campus is regularly hearing and "seeing" the Gospel because they know someone who is truly following Jesus
  • where every student who is a follower of Christ is being equipped in life and ministry skills while in college
  • where every graduating senior in our ministry is sent into the world with a deep love for Christ and vision and plan on how they will help to fulfill the Great Commission and help redeem the brokenness in the cities, jobs, and neighborhoods.

OUR METHOD:

  • WIN students to Christ
Giving every student in Boston an opportunity to hear the gospel through large scale outreaches and engaging students about Christ at the grass roots level, student to student. This comes about through "planting" mission minded student leaders on dorm floors, fraternities and sororities, or even an athletic team or ethnic group on campus. Or it might take the form of a Veritas Forum in which we bring in scholars who can engage the campus with the Christian worldview in their area of expertise. We are also seek to pioneer and launch new spiritual movements on campuses in Boston that have no visible witness for Christ.

  • BUILD students into Christ-centered leaders
Building students to be devoted followers of Christ and equipping them with life and ministry skills to be spiritual leaders and cultural influencers for a lifetime. This comes through small group Bibles students being led by students and staff, through personal mentoring, and through our various conferences and retreats and summer mission projects.

  • SEND students to the world to tell others about Christ
Sending students to make followers of Christ here in Boston and around the world, during college and after, in their careers, churches and neighborhoods. We send students to international locations during their summers, we send out graduates on one-year state-side or international internships and full-time staff, and we seek to intentionally prepare all our students to enter the workforce with a missions mindset and the tools needed to have a lifetime of ministry.
