As I looked into the lost and hurting teens' lives, I realized that my heart was crying out for them to know and lean on Jesus. In 1998, after 12 years of teaching elementary and middle school, God gave me the priveldge to work with Student Venture, the Jr. high and High school minitries of CRU, (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ).

The goal of Cru is to go to where the students spend most of their time, that would be their campuses. We go to build relationships and serve the school. In doing so we are able to have one on one conversations and outreaches where we share the Gospel. Once students place their faith in Christ, we help them to grow in that relationship, develop them as leaders, and send them back to the campus and to their world with that same message.

We have been able to start Altoona Cru, in early March.  The ministry is blessed with five college volunteers who lead our High school leaders.  It has been a joy to watch the Holy Spirit work through these high schoolers as they lead others closer to Jesus.  We are praying that we will be able to start a Cru in the Altoona middle school too.  I will be working on the concept of multiplication where we gather and disciple college students, they inturn disciple High school students, and they disciple Midde school students. I am so thrilled to watch this multiplication play out.                                                                                  

My desire is that each student on every campus would hear the gospel and know someone who truly follows Jesus.
