We are Gene and René Haub, and it is a tremendous privilege to serve with the Jesus Film Project. We have been married for over 40 years, are blessed with three wonderful daughters, and now have the joy of being grandparents to five amazing grandchildren. There is nothing more rewarding than watching God work powerfully in their lives, marriages, and families.  

Our ministry journey with Cru began in January 2000. Before joining staff, Gene spent 20 years with Conoco in engineering and global project management. For the past 26 years, we have served with FamilyLife, helping strengthen marriages and families through practical biblical resources, events, and discipleship opportunities. We have seen firsthand how God transforms lives and families when people encounter His truth.

In May 2026, God opened a new and exciting chapter in our ministry as we joined the Jesus Film Project. Today, we are helping lead efforts surrounding the release of a groundbreaking new animated feature film about the life of Jesus, designed specifically to reach the next generation with the hope of the Gospel. 

The vision is extraordinary. Together with churches, mission organizations, and believers around the world, we are pursuing the God-sized goal of making the original Jesus Film and this new version available in all 7,200 spoken languages by 2033. Our prayer is that every person, everywhere, will have the opportunity to encounter Jesus in a language they understand and in a format that connects with their heart.

Gene serves on the team preparing for the film's worldwide release in December 2028, helping coordinate the many complex efforts required to partner in a global movement. René is helping to build the systems that will support and track tens of thousands of ministry partnerships that use this film and other Jesus Film resources for evangelism, discipleship, and church planting around the world.

Every day, we are reminded that this work is far bigger than us. It is about reaching people who have never heard the name of Jesus, equipping believers to share their faith, and helping fulfill the Great Commission in our generation.
