When we began this journey as vocational missionaries in 2002, many asked,"Why?"  Why leave a successful career as an engineer and a life changing practice as a counselor? Why leave our first home together, phenomenal church and great friends? We had long before decided to live our lives for God and go where he wanted to us go. That’s why we were living in our economically depressed neighborhood in Detroit at the time. And then God called us to leave what he had established, and go. 

Along the way many have joined us and together we are seeing God transform lives. 

Students finding hope in Jesus when life feels beyond hope. Students who used to cut themselves and believe they were worthless finding worth in Jesus and a reason to live. Students who have lived for the next high finding deliverance and now living for Jesus. Students overcome with stress and panic in the pressure to succeed finding peace in Jesus and purpose for their great potential. Students belittled and abused by parents finding love from Jesus and a relationship with their Father God who sacrifices for their good. Students frozen in the pain of resentment finding forgiveness for themselves in Jesus and forgiveness for those who hurt them. Students wanting to make a difference finding purpose in Jesus and the opportunity and development to live it out. Students dead in their sin, finding life in Jesus they will enjoy forever. God has done amazing things as he has worked through us to help students have a relationship with Jesus.

Further, God has blessed the seeds we planted and they are yielding fruit. 

Many graduates have become teachers, impacting kids everyday, loving and investing sacrificially, helping the students know their worth and the God who loves them. Multiple past students have become pastors. One of the first students Cary met and discipled has borne incredible pressure and shepherded his church through great pain, and is continuing to love and serve his community. Men and women in the market place excelling in the role, working with excellence and caring for those around them; in medicine, government, architecture, telecommunications, real estate, construction, property management, higher education, church camps and on and on. Along the way many of them are also investing strongly in their churches and reaching their communities with the good news of Jesus. One is an active leader in a dynamic youth group in the DC area reaching scores of kids. Others serving as elders in their church, running children’s programs, leading outreach, shepherding small groups. Some living out their singleness to God’s glory. Many becoming husbands or wives, even moms or dads, loving their families and shepherding their kids with the sacrificial love of Jesus.​

This fruit has also spread around the globe. In the last 18 years, we have sent people from Ball State to over 46 countries of the world, on 6 continents. 

Some have gone as week-long missionaries providing clean water solutions and the gospel. Others have gone for a summer taking the gospel to college students and communities. Serving women and children in red light districts. Serving in orphanages. Becoming students of language and culture. Many have gone for a year or two. Several indefinitely. Helping others have a relationship with Jesus. Discipling young believers. Shepherding indigenous leaders to take over ministries. Connecting believers in local churches and serving those churches with their love and leadership.

Some of the world to which they have gone includes: East Asia, Thailand, Japan, South Asia, Azerbaijan, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Middle East, Northern Africa, Côte d’Ivoire, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, South Africa, France, Germany, Netherlands, Ireland, Italy, Slovenia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Croatia, Russia, Honduras, Guatemala, Ecuador, Chile, Venezuela, Brazil, Uruguay, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba and states as broadly as Massachusetts to California, Michigan to Texas, Washington to Florida. 

God has blessed our efforts together to see students follow Jesus in all they do. As a result lives, communities and the world are being impacted for the glory of God. 

This is why we do what we do.


As the Lord continues to bless our ministry, we are experiencing opportunities for greater scope and influence. Along with greater scope and influence is the need for additional resources. We are trusting God to grow our team of partners who give $100 monthly or some other amount significant to them. Will you partner with us to to see young people transformed by Jesus Christ and sent into the world  to help others know and follow him?
