Bringing the gospel to neighborhoods everywhere through winsome, loving & intentional relationships.
Neighborhoods- We desire that every neighbor would have the chance to be part of community and grow into a relationship with God. Whether it's through a simple act of kindness, sharing a meal, a table discussion, a party or something else, we want to see people experience how neighboring fits into God's bigger redemptive story and see believers love their neighbors with gospel intentionality.
Our City- We really love our city. Through a close partnership with our own church- as well as other churches- we hope to see God's kingdom break into homes and apartments and neighborhoods all over Columbia.
Beyond- We desire to have a broad influence through (1) our Neighboring Curriculum, (2) Distance Neighboring Coaching and (3) Partnering with and teaching at Churches.
About us:
Chris grew up as a missionary kid. His parents served on staff with Cru at Kansas State, and then when he was 10, his family moved to Budapest Hungary where he spent the rest of his childhood as his parents continued to work in campus ministry. Chris returned to the U.S. to attend Kansas State University. After graduating, he decided to join staff with Cru to do campus ministry at Mizzou. While the director of the ministry, Chris commuted to Covenant Theological Seminary and earned a Master of Divinity. In his spare time (which is never), he also enjoys good music, good food, good coffee, cooking and football.
Elizabeth graduated from Miami University, where she studied Comparative Religion, with a focus on Judaism. She married her crush and worked for 17 years as a spiritual resource for college students and recently transitioned with Chris to neighboring. She is a mom to four little girls and her world revolves around lovies, princess dresses and wiping little hands. She is an expert at watching reality TV and loves to bring artistry into motherhood through attempts at cooking, entertaining, decorating and gardening. She can also get slightly excited about making cakes, Halloween costumes and kids' birthday parties.
They have four daughters: Ginger (10), Pearl (8), June (6) and Annabelle (5) a Pomeranian and live in Columbia, MO.
