Aaron and I were both profoundly impacted by the ministry of Cru when we were college students. After graduating and spending a few years working in our professions, we sensed God calling us to give our lives to serving Him through Cru. We wanted to see students have the opportunity to hear the Gospel, encounter Jesus, and experience the life change that we had experienced. 

For the past 20 years, I have had the privilege of serving with Cru in Southern Colorado and at the University of Colorado Boulder, while also providing leadership to teams across the Western United States. Throughout those years, my passion has remained the same: helping people take their next step toward Jesus and equipping others to reach the campus with the Gospel. 

Now God is opening a new chapter in that calling. 

I am excited to serve as a National Mission Director with Faculty Commons, helping provide overall leadership for this growing ministry to faculty and graduate students across the United States and around the world. 

Why faculty and graduate students? Because the influence of the university extends far beyond the classroom. Professors shape the minds and values of future leaders, while graduate students are preparing to become the scholars, researchers, professors, and professionals who will influence their fields for years to come. Faculty Commons exists to help Christian faculty and graduate students live out their faith in the academy, connect with one another, and make Christ known to their students and colleagues. 

For me, this isn't a move away from students—it is an opportunity to reach them in an even broader way. When a professor follows Jesus and is equipped to live out his or her faith, that influence can touch hundreds or even thousands of students and colleagues over the course of a career. When Christian faculty are connected and equipped across an entire campus, academic discipline, or university system, God can use those relationships to bring the hope of Christ into places that desperately need it.

I am humbled and excited to step into this new calling. I believe God is inviting me to use the experience He has given me over the past 20 years to help Faculty Commons grow a movement of Christian faculty and graduate students who are equipped to make Christ known in the academy and around the world.

Stephanie currently serves as a National Mission Director with Faculty Commons, a ministry of Cru. Aaron serves with Cru as Affiliate Staff, volunteering his time and helping engage with the mission in new ways.
