Paul and Jaimie Nunez

#0548192

I, Jaimie, love helping Cru missionaries be full-funded for the work God calls them to.  I coordinate the coaching process for the Western states in the US in an effort to encourage, equip and resource our staff to serve unhindered by financial strain.

I invite others to partner with me so I can do this work full-time. Please consider giving any amount that is significant to you to help us reach the world for Christ. Thank you for considering  my ministry.

A little about us:

We met on the campus of UC Davis and fell in love serving together as student leaders with Cru.  In 2004 we both became full-time missionaries with Cru serving at Cal Poly Pomona and later San Jose State.  We were married in 2005 and now have 3 children--Sam, Tessa, and Benjamin.

In 2017, God directed Paul to be a pastor and Jaimie remained on staff full-time as a new missionary support coach.  She gets to help missionaries be fully funded and report to the field more emotionally and spiritually healthy.

Currently, we live in El Cerrito, CA (just outside of Berkeley).

A little personal history about each of us:

I (Jaimie) grew up with a personal relationship with Jesus from the age of 4. I emember having a great church community, loving Christian parents, and even went on several mission trips. But by the time I was a freshman in college  I was at a crossroads where living the typical "college life" was becoming more attractive than living for Jesus.  Luckily I wandered into a Cru social event where a Cru leader explained to me that Cru was, "about turning lost students into Christ-centered laborers."  He said, "Our vision is to reach the campus for Christ." God used those simple statements to grip my heart. Cru became a place where I could have my own ministry and leave an eternal legacy of students reaching students for Christ.  By my senior year, God gave me the ambition to be a full-time missionary to college students.

Paul grew up going to church and believing intellectually in Jesus and all the stories, but no relationship or love for God. So like most typical college students, he went to college with little interest in investing in "studying the Bible" or having a "personal relationship" with God. Who would want to do that??

Thankfully, Cru's vision was to reach lost students, so his freshman year at UC Davis, while waiting to take a placement exam, a Cru leader handed him a spiritual survey. The next week, through a small miracle, a staff guy got ahold of him and asked to meet. Being new to college, Paul thought "why not?"  That meeting changed his life. The Cru staff, named Dave, explained the Gospel to Paul and all the lights went on. The religion he'd grown up with became a real relationship with Jesus.

Paul was so hit by the person and work of Christ that he couldn't believe more people weren't sold out for Jesus. He began sharing the Gospel with all his friends and dorm-mates. By the end of his senior year, Paul felt called to continue to reach college students with the same message that had broken through to him at such a pivotal point in his life.
