Jean Johnston grew up in Hispanic/Latino neighborhoods in Albuquerque, New Mexico (and she comes from a low-income background herself).  At the age of 13, Jean gave her life to Christ... and God transformed her life forever. Jesus Christ has changed her life and she desires for Him to use her to impact the lives of others as well - particularly youth on the margins.

Jean joined staff with Cru in 2003 (as a part of the Inner City Ministry of Cru).  By God's grace, Jean has been serving in Urban Denver as a missionary ever since

In Late 2011, Jean transitioned to the High School Ministry of Cru, specifically geared at reaching middle school and high school students on their school campuses with the gospel. Jean personally works with youth in urban context (Denver Cru High School's local ministry's website is www.crudenver.com). 

Winning, Building, and Sending will always be at the heart of her ministry.  She is committed to reaching urban teens in Denver (in areas dominated by gang activity) with the life-changing power of the gospel. Over the years, Jean has had the privilege of sharing that message with and to teenagers all over the world as well (including India and Tanzania).   

It is an amazing adventure to partner with God as He works to transform lives (Romans 12:1-2; 1 Timothy 2:2).
