My calling to missions began as a child in elementary school. An avid reader, I developed a love for missionary autobiographies and was fascinated by women such as Amy Carmichael, Gladys Alward, Marilyn Laslo and others. My parents personal ministry with Campus Crusade also played a huge role in this interest. At the age of 8 or 9, I remember sitting in the childrens meeting for the missions conference and being told that God might be calling some of us in the room to be missionaries. I distinctly remember sitting Indian style on the carpet and asking God are you calling me? Now a college grad, I have been experiencing the call of God to missions in a powerful way. In the last several years on staff God has continued to confirm my calling to use the gifts He has given me to reach college students. During this time I have worked with students at East Carolina University, and now on the Central Kentucky team serving students and faculty at University of Kentucky, University of Louisville, Morehead State University, Transylvania University and several others. Over the summers I have worked with students in Russia, NYC, and Senegal W. Africa. Now I have the priveledge of serving as one of the Missional Team leaders encouraging, equiping, and providing vision and direction to our staff team. It has been amazing to see that young people everywhere are seeking relationship with lasting love and purpose for their life. God is moving hearts and you can be a part of it!
I am excited about sharing this ministry with you, so that you might join with me in demonstrating the love of Jesus to students. Just as I asked myself the general question given at the missions conference when I was 9 years old, I pray that you would ask yourself the same; Is God calling me to be a missionary? One of the things I love about being on staff is that I get to invite friends like you into the Great Commission! We are the body of Christ, and as that body we work together to accomplish that goal. I want to ask you to hold the rope while I climb down to rescue those in desperate need. Your prayers and financial support are the muscles that enable the hand to move. Would you consider helping hold that rope?
