Karl and Meghan Glendenning

As we consider Matthew 9:35-38...

And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."

...we are gripped by God's call on our life to be laborers

As a missions organization with nearly 25,000 staff globally in 190 countries, Cru continues to be committed to sharing the gospel so that everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus.

Karl recently took on a new role at Cru's Headquarters in Orlando as the National Director of People & Culture for Capacity. In his new role Karl provides HR care, professional, and spiritual development for Cru's 500+ Campus Ministry missionaries serving in 7 geographic offices around the country. The last several years Karl & Meg have helped in the recruiting, on boarding, and development opportunities for Cru's Headquarters Interns (recent college graduates). Meg will continue to serves Cru's Headquarters Internship as her primary focus.

The work at Cru headquarters and geographic offices has significantly increased Cru’s capacity to be a part of God’s work helping fulfill the Great Commission. From video production teams and translators with the Jesus Film Project who have help translate the JESUS Film into 1,700+ languages. Ministry leaders and web developers who have helped create and maintain websites like EveryStudent.com which since its inception has seen over 100 million site visits, and 1.25 million indicated decisions for Christ. The campus ministry in the U.S. and around the world over the last year has given over 25 million students and faculty the opportunity to hear the gospel in the U.S. and around the world; with over 300,000 decisions to put their faith in Christ. Each of these ministries is supported by staff at headquarters and area offices who help build capacity for missionaries in the field to do evangelism and discipleship. To get the work done it takes accountants, recruiters, HR staff, learning architects, graphic designers, photographers, marketing specialists, writers, videographers, web developers, UXUI specialists, and many others.

We have loved the opportunity to work together with the HQ Internship Program and are excited by the opportunity to expand that work to all of our staff in the 7 Campus Ministry geographic offices; intentionally develop our staff spiritually, professionally, and personally. Our vision is that they would be equipped to use their skills and abilities as lifelong Christ-centered multiplying disciples and would be part of helping increase Cru’s capacity while serving in one of our offices. We have always been compelled by the need for laborers in ministry, regularly praying Matthew 9:38.

Through our involvement with Cru as students both Meg & Karl saw the significant decisions students were making during their college years. We recognized that often students thought they are making decisions that would only affect them for a semester or a year, but in reality many of their choices would impact them for a lifetime. Seeing so many students harassed and helpless the Lord called us to join staff with Cru; Meg in 2002 and Karl in 2006.  Meg served at her Alma Mater at CU in Bolder as a field missionary prior to Karl & Meg meeting on a mission trip. After getting married, we had the privilege of serving together as a campus missionaries for 5 years in St. Louis, MO and Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire. Political crisis in Cote d'Ivoire cut short our service in Africa and redirected us to Cru's World Headquarter in Orlando Florida since 2011. Since then Karl has served in various Human Resource capacities recruiting, hiring, and training, many of Cru's missionary staff and field team leaders. One of the greatest joys in our story and ministry has been the birth of our four children and the privilege to be their parents and shepherding them to know Christ and seeing them gripped by the same compassion, that their siblings and friends would know Jesus.

Like many other missionary organizations, Cru staff members have the responsibility to develop a team of financial partners who provide the necessary finances for their ministry, including their salary and ministry-related expenses. To reach our goal we rely on ministry partners like you to partner with us on a monthly/annual basis. To complete our team of monthly ministry partners for our on-going ministry, we are trusty God to raise $2,868 in new monthly support. Additionally, due to a shortfall in giving the past couple years and a season of heightened medical expenses we are in a position of needing to raise an additional $22,500 in one-time special needs. Above all else we need people to partnering with us to pray for us and our ministry.

Please prayerfully consider partnering with us in the Gospel.

If you would like to join our team at a monthly, quarterly, or annual level you can set that up as well as one-time special needs gifts by clicking the link in the upper right-hand corner or lower left hand corner.

Meg and I are grateful that you would consider partnering with us in helping reach the world with the love of Christ. Thank you for being an instrument of God's provision in our lives as we go out as laborers into His harvest.

Grace & Peace,
Karl & Meg
