Hi, my name is Emily Shand and I graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. My freshman year at Northwestern was an incredibly significant year in my life; a friend in Cru introduced me to a personal relationship with Jesus. My life has changed radically since then. My heart is to make Christ known here on campus and around the world. I want to give to others the opportunity to respond to Gods love as my friend did for me my freshman year.

I believe the most influential and strategic place to tell others about Jesus is on the college campus. Over the course of the year, I will be able to do full-time what Ive come to love; share the gospel with students and build them up in their relationship with God. I want to spend the best hours of my day introducing others to Christ. Its so amazing to me just how much God has changed my life since Ive been here at NU, and I want to see that happen for other women.

I have been minstering with Cru at Northwestern since graduation, and have been blown away by God's faithfulness during that time. I have seen many students make decisions to start a relationship with Christ, and be sent out as spiritual multipliers post graduation - both in their field of study and in vocational ministry. It has been a joy to get to do what I love with the best hours of my day, and it is only through your partnership that I'm able to remain on campus doing that.
