Starting on the university campus, our mission is to reach, train, and send multiplying disciples to follow Jesus and build authentic missional movements that influence families, communities, and ultimately the whole world!
We create opportunities for the gospel to capture hearts, transform lives, and launch men and women into a life-long adventure with Jesus.
Mark 16:15 says …
“Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”
Imagine a hillside in summer, by a high mountain plateau.
Campers have come to enjoy the beauty of the mountains, the clear streams, and the lure of the forest. Twilight fades into night as a few lonely campfires glow in a seemingly losing battle against the growing darkness.
Then something amazing begins to happen.
New campfires spring to life. Points of warm, flickering light ignite all over the hillside, spreading out as far as the eye can see.
Illumined in the glow of each fire, a band of friends gather, eager to share a meal and experience the warmth of true friendship.
Now imagine your nation from God's vantage point. In a way similar to the scene above, God is working to ignite fires in new places, illuminating the darkness with His presence.*
We envision spiritual "campfires" spreading across the globe as people come to Christ and bands of believers join together to become His mouth to speak, His arms to embrace, and His feet to go!
Psalm 46:10 says:
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
Since 2018, we have been assigned to Destino, the ethnic focused ministry of Cru Campus that is contextualized for students where the gospel is most clear and compelling within a Hispanic and Latino cultural context. Gene has led the Destino team based in San Antonio, TX since 2020.
Since the summer of 2024, Gene has been also been assigned to Faculty Commons, the professor and grad student network of Cru.
