Hey y’all,
We are the Huang Family: Ian, Carmen Rae, Ethan, and Harrison.
As college students at the University of Texas (Ian) and Ole Miss (Carmen Rae), we were both involved with Cru, and that played a significant role in our spiritual walks with God. We both individually joined staff with Cru in the summer of 2010 captivated by the vision of Win, Build, Send. That’s how we met! We earnestly desired to spend our days seeing people won to Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit, building people up in their faith by the faithful teaching of God’s Word and life-on-life discipleship, and then seeing them be sent out to share the gospel and make disciples wherever God leads them. We have been able to do this in a variety of contexts whether it has been ministering to college students on university campuses in the States or overseas, coaching missionaries to reach college students for Christ around the world, and mobilizing people to know Jesus and make Him known where they are in the context of marriage and families.
I (Carmen Rae) specifically serve on the mobilization team with Cru FamilyLife to see this happen. We believe families are one of the most untapped resources on the planet in helping fulfill the Great Commission and cause societal change. To that end, FamilyLife's vision is "every home a godly home". And its mission is "effectively developing godly marriages and families who change the world one home at a time". When we think about family, that literally impacts every single person on the planet because everyone is affected whether positively or negatively by family. Someone’s family of origin really does shape how he or she views God and His family. Ian and I see it in our own lives and with those we encounter every day. As we seek to know Jesus on a deeper level, we want to spend our lives sharing the gospel, discipling others in their faith, and mobilizing people to do the same where they are in the contexts that God gives to us. As you can see 10 years later, we are still captivated by the vision and heart of Win, Build, Send because Jesus has completely transformed our hearts.
