"I think I am ready to make the sacrifice to follow Jesus. I feel like I have believed and wanted to for a long time but I was worried about how my family would react; they might choose to disown me because of this decision. But last Sunday I heard a message about how we need to face our trials. I was ready to follow Jesus; I knew that I needed to make a decision to follow Jesus despite the risks. I still don’t know how my family will react but I believe and want to follow Him." -Danny, South Asia

ASU has about 15,000 international students from 157 different countries. Around 7,000 are from South Asia. The South Asian region is considered one of the most unreached and unengaged places in the world and only 5% are followers of Jesus. I have seen God working among many of my many of my South Asian friends here at ASU- some of them have decided to follow Jesus and some are in the process of learning more. Even within the past year I have seen multiple South Asians (aside from Danny) either decide to follow Jesus, take steps of faith to pursue who Jesus is or take up leadership positions where they are helping co-lead bible studies. But whether they are new believers, new to leadership positions or seekers all have told me the same thing- they are attracted to Christianity because Christians are loving and different than everyone else.
