​Cru Military - San Diego Local Director

As a young man I served in the Marine Corps where I learned a deep sense of self-sacrifice and helping the helpless.  Much of who I am today was forged in the flames of Military and specifically Marine Corps service (Commitment, Integrity, Honor).  Then, moving to civilian service, I spent 25 years as a pastor working to help people find hope and healing in everyday life.  Julie and I have been married for 30 years, and we have three beautiful grown daughters.  Now, I have a clear and undeniable calling back to my roots in order to narrow my focus on military members and their families.

I have a deep burden in my heart for those serving in the military.  The unprecedented operational pace and sustained combat posture of the past 10 plus years has taken a heavy toll on military service men and women.  It doesn't stop there.  Wives, husbands, children, and other family members are often overlooked casualties.  Marriages are being torn apart, children are confused, and suicide is at an all time high.  They are desperate for the good news that only Jesus offers!  I seek to help them on their journey of discovery and healing by sharing God's incredible grace and love.  

My ministry is highly relational.  By providing safe and authentic relationships I want to see military communities transformed into networks of grace, strength, and growth.  In addition to building personal relationships and mentoring, I'll provide resources and counseling services.  We will direct our efforts aggressively to form small groups and communities to provide support for strong healthy marriages, grace-filled parenting, and recovery from PTSD and other forms of combat trauma.
