Hi there friend, we are Jonathan, Lina, & Sara (moved to Heaven on 12/12/22), and Samuel Peaslee and we would like to share about how the Lord is currently working through us in our ministry with Athletes in Action.
After serving 10 years in the Basketball Department, ministering to basketball players and coaches globally, the Lord has led me (Jonathan) to serve in the Leadership Development & Human Resources (LDHR) department of AIA as a Staff Care Specialist mostly serving & equipping our staff & interns in Biblical sexual wholeness.
God has done a great work in my (Jonathan) own life in the area of sexual wholeness through fighting against the lies of the enemy (John 8:44) with the truth of God's word and finding my identity in Christ (John 1:12) and not in good behavior (Eph. 2:8-9). God has allowed me to guide many young men in their road to restoration and a deeper walk with our Savior, Jesus Christ.
I (Jonathan) also serve as the team chaplain for the men's basketball team at Wilberforce University. Some roles have included; organizing player development sessions, leading devotionals, pre-game chapels, team prayer, campus prayer walks, one-on-one discipleship, and including their athletes & coaches in our AIA opportunities such as international basketball missions trips and captains/coaches academies.
All of our ministry efforts are centered on the life saving message that God's only Son, Jesus Christ, came from Heaven being fully God and fully man (Col. 2:9 & Phil. 2:7), He lived the only perfect/sinless life, He willingly took on our sin & shame (Heb. 12:2), died on the cross for everyone, came back to life, and conquered sin and death. Only through faith in Jesus and real repentance from sin can we have a right relationship with God. (Acts 3:19)
God is so good to us and we are excited for the opportunities that He has prepared in advance for us to do. Thank you for supporting our ministry in prayer & financially.
