Miheret and Steph married in December 2019 and serve together withCru in Orlando, FL. Miheret, being from Ethiopia, and Steph, multi-cultural from south Florida, are both passionate about reaching the world with the gospel in innovative and relational ways.
During his high school years, Miheret discovered Cru and later joined staff with the Great Commission Ministry Ethiopia in 2008 (GCME is a ministry of Cru). Currently, Miheret serves as Digital Strategy Director for the Jesus Film Project. Throughout his time with Cru, Miheret has worked with leaders across the organization to apply digital innovations to bring visions to fruition. He has recently served as the senior digital strategist for the Global Alliance for ChurchMultiplication (GACX), focusing on pioneering evangelism and church planting on the Metaverse. Prior to that, he was part of Cru's Global Digital Strategies team. Miheret is constantly learning and translating future possibilities into a missional context, helping Cru take significant steps forward toward digital maturity.
Steph's focus is reaching the thousands of International students at Valencia College and the University of Central Florida through Bridges International, a ministry of Cru. Through helping students adapt to American culture, create a family community, and living everyday life together, Steph is able to share the good news of Jesus to many who have never heard the gospel. From small groups, Bridges Cafe game nights and conversation hours, serving students who are located in Orlando but also studying online back in their home countries.
Cru is an interdenominational ministry committed to giving every person in the world the opportunity to hear the gospel. Cru has no central funds for paying the salaries and ministry expenses of its missionaries. These contributions are used to fund the ministries of our staff members.
