Welcome! We are thrilled for you to know more about us and the amazing work of the Lord in our lives and on college campuses. Ever since each of us graduated from college ourselves, we've been working with students because we know how pivotal those college years are! You may have heard it said that universities are Satan's playground. There is a battle raging for the hearts and minds of the world's future leaders. Yet, God is on the move! We echo Dr. Bill Bright's belief that he quipped in the 1950s, "If we reach the campus today, we can reach the world tomorrow."

This is Michelle's 24th year on staff with the campus ministry of Cru. After being trained in ministry at Marshall University for two years, then moving to be on staff at Duke University for three, she spent 7 years serving at NC State in Raleigh, NC. She was then invited to co-lead the team at at Appalachian State University. So, we lived in Boone for 4 years and both of our boys were born there! We moved to the Eastern North Carolina team in the Raleigh area the summer of 2017, helping to reach 36 campuses east of Durham. Until the spring of 2021, when Ethan was asked to take on the role of Team Leader at Duke University and the Durham metro area and we transitioned to that team in the summer of 2021. We are excited to share Christ with such bright students on the strategic campus at Duke University! Each year, we get to be a small part of God drawing atheists and others into a relationship with Him.

Before joining staff with Cru mid-career, Ethan was a soccer coach at Liberty University for 4 years. He saw God working in the lives of college students and loved coaching. Even before we met, Ethan saw the impact that Cru can have, since he was mentored by a dynamic "grandfatherly" gentleman who was on staff with Cru for 35 years. Through a series of events, God began stirring the desire in Ethan to spend more time helping college men become godly leaders. Ethan resigned from coaching and officially joined staff with Cru the summer of 2012. 

For those who enjoy more details: On November 26, 2011 we embarked on the great adventure of marriage. What a great gift from the Lord...we are enjoying married life and the adventure (humbling challenge) of being parents! Please pray with us  for God to powerfully use us in His Kingdom as a family. Our son Liam was born in 2014, and our son Charlie was born in 2016. They love being friends with all the college students and joining us on spring break and summer missions!

As a couple, we love pointing people to Christ and discipling students to have a lifetime of ministry wherever God leads them. We invite you to come alongside us to help change the world for Christ. What a delight and privilege that we get to represent Christ to everyone around us!
