Valor Global Bruce West Memorial

#0756019

Bruce and Maryann West served on staff with Cru for 19 years when God called them to ministry to the military. Bruce and Maryann fell in love with military men and women and Bruce joined the Navy as a chaplain. After their initial training, Bruce and Maryann moved their family to Japan to serve as chaplain to the Marines.

While Bruce was serving the Marines as a chaplain, he was tragically killed in a biking accident. Maryann moved her three children back to the U.S. seeking God’s direction for their lives. Maryann desires to honor the memory of Bruce by setting up a scholarship fund to help Cru staff and students experience one of Bruce’s greatest joys in ministry – working with foreign military men and women. During Bruce’s time on staff with Cru, he led a team of Guatemalan cadets visiting the U.S. to multiple ministry locations, seeking to build in them a heart for Christ in their military.

The Valor Global Bruce West Memorial is set up to assist Cru staff and students in the following areas:

  1. Cru staff leading mission trips to foreign military locations.
  2. U.S. students going on mission trips to foreign military locations.
  3. Foreign military men and women coming to the U.S. as part of a hosting mission trip.

The Cadet ministry of Cru, Valor, seeks to win, build, and send U.S. cadets and midshipmen on 300 plus campuses across the U.S. This scholarship will help the more than a thousand U.S. cadets and staff with the opportunity to reach cadets in all nations.
