Hello, we are Jake and Lily Ferrier, and we are so thankful for you visiting our page. We are the Ferriers, and we live in Columbus, Ohio with our two awesome children Adeline and Calvin. We invite you to read on and hear a little bit about both our faith journeys and journey to ministry with Cru.
As students at Wittenberg University, God used the ministry of Cru uniquely in our lives. After wrestling with spiritual questions for much of high school and the beginning of college along with struggling with his father's passing away from cancer, Jake got connected with Cru as a student in the Fall of 2011. In the midst of going to Cru for the first time, Jake first heard what it meant to have a personal relationship with God through hearing the gospel and experiencing the meaningful community of Cru on campus. After a year of continued wrestling, God led Jake to commit his life to Christ his sophomore year at a Cru Winter Conference. Throughout the remainder of his college career, he fell more deeply in love with Christ and enjoyed the reading the Bible, serve on the student-leadership team of Cru on Wittenberg's campus. Through devoting a summer to a mission trip with Cru, God clearly called Jake into ministry and to participate in His fulfilling of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8). Jake has been faithfully serving with Cru on the Central Ohio Team since 2015 at both Otterbein and Wittenberg University, and he loves seeing God's work in and through his ministry to win, build, and send students as disciples of Christ for a lifetime both locally and globally.
After growing up in a both a vibrant, Christian family and church community, God led Lily to get involved in Cru right from the start of her college experience at Wittenberg. For Lily, Cru became a place where God challenged her to take ownership of her faith and take steps of faith that she had never taken before like leading bible studies and going on summer mission trips as well. Upon graduation, Lily had thought about joining staff with Cru, but she saw the Lord lead her into serving him as a Special Education teacher at a Christian school in Columbus. When Lily and Jake got married in October of 2016, Lily continued teaching, but served with Cru on a volunteer basis one night a week at Otterbein discipling a few students. Over the course of Lily's volunteer experience both on campus and on summer mission trips with Jake, she saw God lead her to take the step of joining Cru staff full-time in the summer of 2021.
Since then, we have been serving faithfully on the Central Ohio Cru Team in Columbus at both Otterbein University and Wittenberg University. We are incredibly passionate about seeing God win, build and send students through Cru to live as lifelong disciples for Jesus because that was a very experience in Cru. We are confident that The Lord will use our ministry to impact and influence tomorrow's strongest leaders, both locally and overseas.
